Steve Hunziker always had a thing for art. As a kid growing up, he whiled away the hours making pictures and creating things. It was fun. It was magic. The world was his canvas.
In college, he studied, examined, dissected and created in every conceivable medium, from sculpture, ceramics, painting and drawing to illustration and printmaking.
But what started out as a passion, became a 30-year career in the time is money, track every billable hour, do it fast world of graphic arts and commercial photography. Alas, the daily grind finally burned him out and the magic of art and what it’s really all about nearly faded away – moving people, touching their hearts, inspiring transformation.
“By the grace of God”, Steve states, “fate intervened and sweet deliverance”.
Approximately one year ago, his wife accepted a job as a traveling nurse. He quit his day job and they became full-time RVers. They now spend their days traipsing across the US, exploring all the wondrous sights and spectacles our country has to offer.
And yes, he has reclaimed the magic. He takes his computer and digital camera equipment on the road, creating art that “celebrates God’s magnificent creations”. What more could an artist need – except, perhaps, a growing and dedicated circle of diehard patrons? But most importantly, it’s Steve’s prayer that “God will use this magical alchemy of art and photography to reveal His eternal truth, touching hearts with a message of His divine, unending beauty, power and grace”.
