Max Fannin sees the world in a really expansive way. Maybe it’s because he’s lived in both the East and the West. Born in Austin, Texas ( where his father’s from), Max moved early in life to Seoul, South Korea (where his mother’s from). By nine, he was back in the States, living in Sacramento.
Always heavily involved in sports, particularly tennis, Max played competitively in both high school and college. His college years were spent in Sacramento and Maryland, before transferring to UCSB, where he met his good friend and fellow photog, Jesse Dudan. Max graduated in 2001 with a degree in business economics and is currently back in Sacramento, living with his girlfriend Sasha.
For Max, photography is a powerful medium. It affords endless opportunities for personal expression. He’s always loved it, but didn’t get serious until after college. Max can’t think of anything more awesome than grabbing his camera and heading out into the wilderness at dawn, capturing the intense shades of blue as sunset spreads across the ocean horizon or traveling to some exotic place, temples silhouetted against crimson skies.
