Born and raised in a small town near Milano, Italy in 1982, Giorgio Baroni had the outstanding good fortune to experience centuries of Italian art, architecture and design firsthand. Giorgio’s closeness to the great masters and his extensive formal training are deeply apparent throughout his work.
Giorgio graduated from Liceo Artistico Statale I∞ in Milano in July 2000. He started his design studies at Politecnico di Milano University, where he discovered his true calling, illustration. He decided to transfer to the Scuola del Fumetto in Milano and enrolled in the Illustration Class for three years, graduating in July, 2005.
The artist has won high placements in international design competitions, including: Concorso Internazionale Sulle Ali Delle Farfalle in Bordano, Italy and Torino Citt‡ Olimpica, which celebrated the XX Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy.
Now working as a freelance illustrator, Giorgio also collaborates with magazines and produces graphics for a local clothing line.
Giorgio is a member of the Associazione Illustratori (Italian Illustrators Association) which published his work in both the 2006 and 2007 Illustratori Annuals.
